હું કદાચ અબુધ હતો
બે દોરા ઝાલી રાખતો
એક ધોળો,બીજો કાળો
સવારની રાહ જોતો
એમને નોખા કહેવા.
હું તો કેવળ પાળુ
મારો ધર્મ જે
મેં નથી ચોર્યો
કે નથી અંગીકાર કર્યો.
કદાચ હું અબુધ હતો
અંગ મેળવેલા દર્દીએ
કહ્યું હતું, હું દુખી છું
કોઇકે તો મરવાનું હતું, કરતાં
વધારે સારો જવાબ વિચારવા.
ના, મારો જીભડો
લંબાયો નથી. એ તારી
મા એ આપેલો ડગલો છે,
કીરમજી વા રુપેરીભૂરો,
રેશમી અસ્તર, કૉલર
તારું સમગ્ર ગળુ ઢાંકવા
પૂરતો પહોળો હતો.
આખો હેમાળો તેં પહેર્યો
પછી વસંત આવે
પણ ક્યારે જાય નહીં.
એ અરબસ્તાની હતું માર માટે.
હવે હું ધોળું ખમીસ પહેરું-
પાતળી રાખોડી પટ્ટીઓવાળું,
તૂટેલું ઉપલું બટન-
અને બંધબેસતું.
